Surgery
We strive to make surgery as stress-free as possible for both patients and their families.
The Pet Health Center performs non-emergency surgeries such as mass (tumor) removals. Spay/neuter surgeries are performed at Dakin through the Community Spay/Neuter Clinic.
At surgery appointments:
- Before surgery, your pet will receive an exam by a veterinarian as well as blood work to make sure they are healthy and ready to be given anesthesia (medication to sedate them during surgery)
- Every patient undergoing surgery will have a medication and pain management plan tailored to their needs
- Your pet's vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and other important functions) are closely monitored while they are under anesthesia
